RE:Blackrock position in KAT

RE:Blackrock position in KAT
@stockhunter20001 On 04 Dec 2019 at 01:26 PM I posted the following on my Seeking Alpha KvN KAT Blog:

Bloomberg is showing BlackRock as #2 shareholder (behind Glencore) with 3.34% or 63.664 MM shares.

Evy has been a patient investor and there is no indication they won't continue to be patient. After so many years in the DRC, this investor is unlikely now to cut and run when all indications point to Tailwinds from here, not Headwinds.

Lastly, will BlackRock subscribe to it's Rights? That's a very good question.

Their sub would cost them over a quarter billion. New money.

That's big dough, even for BlackRock. And it's all about available capital. Retail investors won't feel comfortable stumping up new, large chunks of money to subscribe to the RO. Look at me: I am a perfect example. My position is 1 MM shares so it will cost me over Cad$4.014 MM to take up my allocation of ~31 MM new RO shares.

Am I putting in another 4 $bricks on top of the $690k already invested? Answer: No. My risk balance would be screwed, umm, UNbalanced by doing that.

BlackRock could go either way. We'll soon see. They will report their changed shareholder position as and if it changes.

And here's a tip: the moment you see they HAVE subscribed, you KNOW they have received the requisite and tacit "nod & wink" from Glassenberg suggesting they "come on board, your new investment will be taken out for a premium when we buy you out down the road. Just sit tight. We'll take care of you".

If I were Evy, that is the kind of confidence I would seem from the Glencore CEO.

These are my views only. Thanks for reading
