2020The big questions being what's in store for 2020. Firstly, IMO, the investigative report should be public in early Q1 which will likely expose the guilty parties from the Liberal Party that wrongfully refused the EA Certificate. This is a political hot potato as people involved will be subject to and responsible for this wrong doing. There may also be some people at the EAO linked to supporting the decision and may still be working there. Once the dirty laundry is aired it's up to the current government on how to make the best of the situation (politically, what ever that entails) and approve the project. The next steps will be strongly politically driven and not science driven. The environmental assessment, supporting science and safe mine design is clear. Not only does BC need to make clear that they are open for business but also create jobs for people that are in need. Leaving decisions in the hands of politicians that are motivated not by clear science and safe design but by ambitions for power and longevity in office are not always made expeditiously, as with the case for the project. I'm hoping that steps will be taken in Q1 2020 where the government rolls up their sleeves to make a difference for the people of BC needing jobs and does the right thing and approve the project before it's too late and investment money goes elsewhere.
