The asset Copper Duke will make SpinCo a winner The news release of Core Gold 2019 December 18 said:
"The creation of SpinCo, which would now only contain the
Copper Duke and Linderos Projects and which would be spun-out
to Core Gold shareholders"
These are of great potential, and plenty of assets for any one company
to be responsible to develop.
Core project “Copper Duke” has superior mineral intercepts compared
to another company’s adjacent usd$1 billion CapEx Copper-Gold
project under construction.
Copper Duke is of considerable potential, indicated by the
presence of a porphyry outcropping at surface on Copper Duke.
The potential in the region Copper Duke is located in has been
recognized by other companies nearby. As an indication of potential
of Core's Copper Duke, let's look at a project owned by another
company across the valley from Core Gold's Copper Duke.
The project is called Bramaderos, owned by Cornerstone Capital,
and being explored by Sunstone Metals, the same company that did
all the work on SolGold's Cascabel Project in the Ecuador. The
few drill results released from Bramaderos show Au content well
below 1 gpt, copper varies at numbers under 1%. These numbers
were considered good enough for a JV to come in on the property
for Cornerstone and as a result, money is being spent on it
preparing it to be developed.
Cornerstone has about 5 properties
in Ecuador and one in Chile, but has no property to rival Core's,
and no production, yet has a market cap of $191 million dollars,
while Core with one of the best open pits in the world has a
market cap of $36 million! Cornerstone's Chile property does
have involvement by Newmont, a major producer, and this is the
likely drive power to Cornerstone's stock price. The flagship
property's drilling highlights shows a maximum of 0.67 gpt Au in
drill hole CSD-15-012.
Bramaderos is a remarkable property, as
it contains 8.4 Mt Cu and 19.4 Moz Au, discoveries this large are
few and far between. But, it is quite low grade, and development
and construction make it a mine not to begin producing for years
and only after ~1 billion dollars CAPEX up front, and it will be
a giant earth-moving operation. But if big money is willing to
invest in Bramaderos, then that says big money might well be
willing to invest in Copper Duke as well.
