But keep in mind that detail design is never done unless a program launch and no tooling, jigs, expensive stuff like that is developped. I am sure that Airbus is trying to find a best scenario, it would mean a lot for the family concept if they go for it!


«It definifately won't be free but it will cost much less than developing a clean sheet design AND it will be easier to service(maintanace) because there are so many similarities ... I know someone who worked on the Cseries development and "stretching" talks came up often enough, different options were talked about and streamiling a whole fleet was talked about ... from my understanding there was alot of work already done in regards to "stretching" the Cseries right from the begining ... Boeing went  to great lengths to stop the CS300  but they are afraid of the bigger plane  even more , that's where the sweet spot is and where the money is ... GLTA»
