RE:RE:2020- 10 EVs to keep your eye onThanks
One of the largest future uses of LI that I epect to develop from a current VERY modest base is mining. Barrick has fully automated one of it's mines which basically means using remotely controlled drilling, blasting, and hauling machines which in most cases are 100% electric - read LI based. What this means for the miner is a drastic decrease in amount of diesel fuel needed to run the site. But an invisible or unexpected saving comes from lessened need for ventilation which itself is a huge energy draw. The size of the mine equipment used is somewhat smaller - but not much- than those we have all seen in pics over the years; but they are still gigunda given the weights they haul and move. EACH EACH machine has enormous size batteries which means each uses enormous amounts of LI. Few except here on the CRE board and those sites on Hotcopper in Australia where I post are paying any attention to mining use of LI. Brinsden CEO of PILBF IS ONE OF THE FEW MANAGEMENT EXCEPTIONS with regard that and it is part of the reason he dragged PILBF into the JV with POSCO for LIOH production.
Both JSL and Brinsden manage from a basis of facts not fads and each is irrepressibe. Once CRE is funded the fun will start and that funding step will happen.
