RE:Why Namaste won't be in the Edibles business - stock1829So... First of all, this account IS mine, and my name IS Brad Churchill and I AM the CEO of Choklat. If you have any inquiries please feel free to email me directly at Brad@Choklat.com, or contact our Business Development Director, Adina Rothenberg at 403-457-1419, or by emailing her at adina@choklat.com.
Why am I here? I'm here because as the CEO of a company I founded and have worked tirelessly over the past 15 years to build to where it is today, it would be foolish of me to not continually monitor what people are saying about me or my business online. Anonymous idiots like stock1829 are great examples of why I need to do this. While their mindless dribble is often taken with a grain of salt by many, that mindless dribble is a poison seed that could very well lead to much worse things if left unanswered. I MUST answer to it, even though I have much better things to do.
With respect to the post above, there is a lot of misinformation. CannMart CAN sell edibles, and already has their license amended to do so. Don't believe me? Check out Health Canada's website at:
https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-medication/cannabis/industry-licensees-applicants/licensed-cultivators-processors-sellers.html#wb-auto-5 It's there in black and white that they can sell edibles.
Will Namaste be in the edibles business? Of course not! Namaste is a marketing company! Duh!
Does Choklat have news of a pending application? Of course! I just said it. Furthermore, what do you think the CEO of Namaste would say if I was going around telling people what we had applied for a license and it wasn't true???? Again.... DUH!
Does it cost millions of dollars for GMP certification and facility modifications? Uhh.... No... not if you do it right and are fiscally responsible. GMP certification is not required. GMP and GPP practices ARE though, and we wouldn't get our license if we didn't already have the appropriate pre-requisite programs and HACCP plans and SOP's in place. On top of that, our existing facility was 80% HC compliant so we just retrofitted it to save money, then rented another facility down the street where conventional chocolate will be made going forward.
The fact that we have a retail presence in over 150 grocery stores in the largest cannabis market in Canada is FAR from meaningless! In fact, assinine statements like the one made in point seven above show just how little the person knows about business, consumer purchasing trend and habits. It's called BRAND AWARENESS, and our advantage is that through conventional channels we can create that brand awareness that cannabis-exclusive companies can't. Not everybody buys cannabis. However, everybody who buys cannabis ALSO buys groceries. People are creatures of habit, and when venturing into a new setting, such as a cannabis store, consumers look hard for some familiarity to give them comfort. Our reputation for producing some of the finest chocolate in the world will pay off in spades when our chocolate hits retail cannabis shelves.
Again, if you have any questions, please reach out to the numbers I have provided above in the spirit of complete transparency.
Best Regards,
Brad Churchill
The Real CEO of Choklat.
