ETFs ARE NOT, I REPEAT ARE NOT TO BE HELD FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. They are strictly for traders who want to own a basket of investments. There is an erosion effect the longer you stay in an ETF especially those containing commodities like oil and gold. Some ETF traders never even hold them overnight. A long term trade is holding until noon
