RE:The Big PictureGoldendream wrote: After reading some of the Posts investors have given I would just like to offer my own 2 cents worth. An investor can speculate on any number of topics concerning SOI but what is actually going on in the back rooms of these mining companies is really not known till a News Release comes out. I myself try to keep my eye on the BIG PICTURE that is based on the know facts. When Goldcorp merged with Newmont management at Newmont DID NOT support all of the Joint Ventures Goldcorp was invested in. One of Goldcorps JV was with RLG West Red Lake Gold. I was an investor with this company, Newmont dropped it! Newmont since the merger has been VERY CONSERVATIVE in where its money is being invested and has engaged in a large buy back of stock. With this in mind, Newmont HAS INVESTED to the MAXIMUM 19.9% ( LEGAL LIMIT) in SOI which GoldCorp was invested in prior to the merger. This in my opinion says Volumes about the Value Newmont has placed on SOI. The Recent Resourse estimate for SOI just released is to say the least EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE. The most discouraging aspect of the RE was that NOT A SINGLE ONCE OF GOLD WAS PLACED IN THE " INDICATED AND PROVEN" Catagory!!! However, this has NOT DISCOURAGED NEWMONT in the Least. Their are still a few flys in the ointment which include some more drilling and negotiations with SOI's mining neighbours BUT these details will be worked out ( Hopfully soon). The BIG PICTURE is that there is indeed a LARGE RESOURCE likely over 3 million ounces when all is said and done and Newmont aims to get it for it's Elenore Mine. This is all I have to know to stay invested with SOI. In my humble opinion the selling of any number of SOI shares now will quickly be bought up by those who can grasp the BIG PICTURE! Good Luck to all !
Good post.
We don't know yet just what is going on behind closed doors, but all looks positive and I'm in until BIG news comes out.
