RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Hostile takeover...

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Hostile takeover...iDiditMyWay.. If you read my post again I think you will see you misunderstood my point.. all I was pointing out (re Cap'npoobys post) was that I believe the company does not know exactly who all it's shareholders are.. unless they reach the point where they have to declare their holdings, which is 10 mil I think.
I was not refering to anything to do with choice to vote.. I have also seen a few takeovers and many times recieved those shareholder packs from companies Ive owned.. have even voted a few times!
My only point was those packs are sent out by the brokers not the company. It is the brokers that hold the info on the companies shareholders.

iDiditMyWay wrote: @ touared- not quite corect on the takeover business. I've been lucky enough to hold shares in several takeover candidates, with my shares held by a brokerage,  and you DO get the choice to vote whether you want to accept the takeover bid or not.  Its hardly worth the effort for the average retail player but you do get the chance.

Bidding wars are the absolute funnest!!!!
