ENRON was an unregulated monopoly. Not a happy story. CALI customers can choose others now (where it’s avaiable), but the moat is huge.

 I'd like to add when the only form of energy is electrical and we consumers only have one provider guess what you'll be paying for those electrons... its gonna be HUGE as you have no alternative if the eco-freaks get their way.. I like the ability to go from a choice of 5 different outlets to buy fuel if I don't like the price at my usual place of fill.. competition is a good thing as Marths Stewart would say..! Monopolies... not so much..!
