RE:RE:RE:RE:Evan Price gets millions and shareholders get nothingExcept that we have know way of knowing if he was intentionally manipulating anyone or if he actually believed what he was saying. It's also more than he alone. Who was keeping an eye on the company's financial runway? Who was responsible for risk management? How was the BOD measuring and monitoring Evan's performance (or were they at all)? Lots of learnings for investors here, for sure. There were several wise people on this board who saw signs and commented. I myself saw several signs and unfortunately I chose to ignore them, take an idealistic view and patiently wait because I believed in the technology. This situation simply proves that technology alone isn't enough. It takes people (and government policy in this case) to make a company profitable. That has been a painful and expensive lesson, indeed. Easily the worst investing error I've made in my life but I can only blame myself for my own unwillingness to see the signs for what they were. Had I done that, I still would have lost a lot but it would not have been a complete loss. On the positive side, this experience has taught me volumes about things to watch for with future investments. It's an awfully expensive way to learn but at least I got that from it. The best thing we can all do now is keep looking for our next investments and don't look back.

A man who exploits the vulnerability of others for his own sake by manipulating and taking advantage of their confidence (the act of which is known as a confidence trick or game). It is the common abbreviation of the full term, "confidence man." Be wary of con men who send emails claiming to be a bank or some other trustworthy establishment: they often ask for your personal bank details so as to have access to your finances. 2. By extension, a man who is skilled at duplicity, cajolery, or self-serving manipulation or persuasion. John is such a con man, always convincing others to pay for him on nights out under the pretense that he'll "pay them back later."
