you have taken a very big risk IMO, and it will have paid off. Selling ones whole portfolio
is a very courageous thing to do and I admit, I don't have the stones to do it however,
there are other ways to play that move in order to insure your portfolio against downside
loss. Have you ever thought of buying inverse related ETF's which would give you a hedge
against a dramatic downside move in the market? That would give you a little of both
worlds sort of like having your cake and eating it simultaneously. Hedging is a neat way
of handling uncertainty without going all the way. That way you get to keep your portfolio
and the dividends but are hedged against a major dowside move in the market through an
ETF? Maybe its a chicken way of avoiding a bigger decision, but unless you are 100%
sure, which is imposssible IMO, I would go the hedging route.
