Not sure thats the case but when a company has zero news any news might create a small bump. If they can short it down that bump might be a little bigger but not very big. If they mixed the date up and didnt always report on the last day possibly then it would be harder for the shorters to play the game.....they still would it would just add some uncertainty to their game.
