Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:Aphria

RE:AphriaDoesn't make me feel any better, plus the mystery investor doesn't have to file a 13D with SEC because they might fall into the 13G filing category giving them much more flexibility including the ability to dump their shares prior to any filing requirement.

If they were a nefarious type, they would immediately short prior to the news release to ensure that they could profit from the initial 0.73 drop. Then dump shares to keep pushing down the price when events like today (see "The Crash of ACB 2020") happen to force retail investors to panic sell. The more that panic sell and more stops they can hit the better off they will be.

Finally, at the bottom that might be in the 3-4 CAD range, they would book the profits and buy back any shares previously sold to shore up their position to the initial number of shares.

Ride the wave up and support it by buying back all the shares they initially dumped effectively reducing their average price.

If they were even more sinister, they would dump the shares for a profit after it's above their newly lower average price and never have to report at all even though everyone here would still think the mystery investor is bag holding because the price is below 7.12.

What a nice world we live in when the markets provide favour to this kind of activity. Plus if anything goes the opposite direction while they are shorting they have the warrants to fall back on as a sort of option.

We curse them now, but one day if we ever become that wealthy I'm sure that we'll hire brokers to do the exact same thing and wonder why we weren't following their lead to begin with.

Have to admit, they are very good at playing chess.

So don't expect a big increase in share price tomorrow.  Money won't just flow into Aphria. With the news this week from Tilray and Aurora, investors are getting sick of the MJ space and getting the fcuk out.   5.2% - That's another big drop today Vic..... I mean Simon.  Thanks for the 'cone of silence'.

Don't feel bad everyone. Mr.Mystery has lost just over $18 Million (so far). Even Simon Legree's restricted shares he gave himself are $1.6 Million lighter.  There,..... now doesn't that make you feel better.
