RE:RE:RE:Wow! What kind of a JV deal did Bombardier for the CSeries?Well-expressed outrage, 145! Who would have thought that the Avro debacle would be repeated in Canada? The Federal govt has been portrayed as a big supporter of Bombardier but IMO ever since Trudeau has been involved, not so much. They may have provided the $300M but it pales in comparison to the $1.2B investment by Quebec. Then, as mentioned, the Liberals screwed the company by forcing it to negotiate with AB. And, as you have painstakingly detailed, that torturous deal haunts us shareholders to this day. But back to the Liberals. They started messing with Bombardier's plans back in 2015 with their opposition to Jets at Billy Bishop Airport. That lost Bombardier $2B which at that time would have been a huge positive to the CSeries instead of knocking the wind out of their "sales". https://qz.com/668383/the-worlds-best-airline-hits-turbulence/ and https://tinyurl.com/w7kdp67 It was on the hope of that deal---to sell these quieter jets to Porter---that I first got involved in Bombardier. Of course, I was none too wise as to how this company's dual-class structure (one of the legitimate reasons for the Liberals to hold back funding) would play negatively in the future. I also never imagined how devastating the Bombardier family's missteps and Management's ineptitude in BT and the setting up of the JV would prove to be. I mean this deal is just inconceivable! Next week looks to be crucial, but appreciate all the well-thought out opinions. It's been frustrating as I risked more than I should have through the 'B' shares as well as preferreds (which have taken more of a beating of late). -Razbo
