By this logic, why take any drug at all. With enough mental fortitude and belief we can simply will ourselves to good health. Don't get me wrong, positive thinking can definitely make a difference when someone is facing a challenging situation, but I draw the line when it deals with a truly clinical problem like cancer or, in this case, blood issues that can potentially be mitigated with a drug. In the case of a headache, I can believe someone taking what they think is a real Tylenol but was in fact just a sugar pill could feel better. The belief they are doing something good to alleviate their symptoms probably relaxes them and this could very well be a reason the headache passes. I won't believe the same can be said for someone with 'bad' blood.
