a bit of a worrisome article

a bit of a worrisome articleHere's a link on Brookfield, mostly centred arounf BPY courtesy of CanSiamCyp from the ALA board. It definitely gave me something to think about and here's the key part of my response post from the ALA board:

That is definitely an incredibly interesting article. I have had huge faith in the Brookfield management because of their amazing record of buying distressed assets and turning them around. I was always aware that BAM got big fees, etc from the subs but didn't really care as BEP and BIP had done so well. BPY hasn't had the success of the other two and the article seems to be centred on them so that is a little worrisome. Them being Bermuda based was also always a little worrisome.

I'm up 129% on BIP.UN and 114% on BEP.UN in pure capital appreciation + all the divys on top of that so I feel comfortable holding them. I'm down 13% on BPY.UN capital wise but the divys collected bring me right back to break-even.
,
Anyway, I have been pushing BPY on their SH board but I think I'll back off on that. For now, I'm going to keep holding what I have which is only 2.76% of current portfolio value.
