Although I can not provide a definitive date, I can confidently state that it has been known for many many years. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Campbell’s and many other CPG companies using lined canned packaging have encountered many issues from Bisphenol leaking into foods to flavours and additives leaching out of foods.
The Nano Emulsion/Encapsulation tech is more susceptible. Cannabis companies can not simply add more additives, sugars or what ever other stabilizing chemicals they have developed since the 80’s to mask or plateau the issues involved with canned packaging.
Cannabis beverages, for one, have less ingredients and cannot be masked as easily. Also, the technology is extremely fragile. Have you ever inspected an expired date on a Coke can before consuming? Virtually no one does. That is because it is good for as long as 9 months after the shelf date or as long as the carbonation(years). If not shaken and stored in a cool stable place it will last even longer because of additives.
As per my last post, these cannabis companies were well aware of the issues as were the Nano techs selling the extraction services and the packagers. If it had not come to public light the cannabis companies would have done the same as the bisphenol issues they hid for years.
I can say for sure that Canopy knew at least 10 months ago and Heineken(Lagunitas) knew back in 2018 when they switched to bottles. I also posted a video of one of the leading Nano scientists Alex Peshkovsky stating this issue during a dinner lecture back in 2018.
It was not $PR that brought this issue to light with their testing/measuring method(Developed Analytics) as this only measures molecules of Infuz20. However, they are well ahead of the game on this one!
