RE:RE:Pkg is the solution........So thats a great question and obvious i dont have sealed in stone answers i can def give you some insight on the matter mixed with a little bit of facts due to the fact that im a part-time courior for fedex(Great company and good benefits) ......so lets get started!
1. As same day delivery works its way into the world mainly lining up with the launch of 5G, we will see a extreme surge in the amount of products that will be going from store front and warehouses into the consumers hand. This will then lead to a huge increase in products needing to be shipped from the origin of manufacturing into canada where the warehouses are stationed(Because if the item isnt in the country then obvi cant be same day delivered). With that increase in volume is doesnt make logistcal sence for these big courior companies to try and switch to same day delivery when there already built infastructure will see an huge increase in business..........I mentioned i worked for fedex(for the main HUB in Onatrio) and we are currently building a new building to be ready for the surge in volume that is soon to come. Also we have launched TCN(Temprature controlled trucks) which is to help cator to the big surge coming to gorcery delivery market(also meal prep companies)
2. Lets say down the road these couriors companies do launch same day. Yes, this would impact pkg but not eliminate. There is more then enough business to go around in this space and just like there is a UPS and FEDEX doing international shipping they both co-exist and both currently trade for over $100 a share and thats with DHL and canada post live and well. Which shows that with a dying retail market there is money to be made here by mulitple players
3. This last point will highlight two small things more like food for thought on the matter. The first being PKG has a huge lead in delivery regulated substance one that took some hurdling to obtain, this gives them a huge edge when we see the cannabis industry step forward(which i know the news say be scared but colorado just released 1.75 billion in recreational cannabis revneue for 2019 so proof is in the math).
Secondly and last point, Amazon isnt seeing eye to eye with major couriors as they have cancelled contracts with fedex and have stated they wanna ship there own products from manufcature to warehouse with no middle man, which indicates when they do this and the product is in canada they will continue to stay in house and with PKGs damn near perfect rating for deliveries there is no sign of amazon ending usage of PKG to pick another company
We are watchig the birth of a industry and thoo in a couple of weeks PKG is sure to get exciting im even mroe excited about 2-3 years down the road when we are no longer excpanding to new cities but simply recieveing revnue from them........Hope this helps, LONG read lolll................................GLTA
