I checked Jobmaster magnet profile, it is not only small, rare earth magnet is also a small portion of its lineup, it is the only magnet supplier in Canada. Recycling for this single tiny company in Canada is not as significant as everybody hopes.

Agree. Nothing significant. I did not have time to look it up though.

But I think that the purpose was to create recycling program in Canada. Nothing more.

As for DOD, this is the first time that I hear it. Maybe GMA respected the deadline to submit without telling anyone? Anyhow, I guess that GMA must be mentioned in the discussion as to the companies that may receive funds. Not sure whether it is serious though.

Another private company (Urban Mining Company) seems to have already a relationship with DOD and might benefit from the DOD funds sometimes in the future. I will need to complete my DD on this company to learn a bit more. All that to say that there might be more than 2 or 3 applications made for the US funds. Might not be the same magnitude or even the same probability of success, but it seems that there are probably more applications than what was discussed on UCU board.
