Effective vs. MRSA, could it help vs. Corona Virus? If I recall correctly, our green light Theralse laser system has been shown to be effective at disinfecting surfaces contaminated with MRSA, though it hasn't been actively promoted or marketed for such use (yet).
I wonder if there exists a similar potential usefulness for the technology to counter contamination of surfaces by the Corona virus. While it would not seem likely it could combat airborne contamination (though I wouldn't rule it out completely), ii wonder if it could be efficacious in the cleanup and decontamination of sick rooms and hospital facilities, such as at the several military bases where travelers have undergone quarantine, and also major transport carriers, such as aircraft, passenger ships, trains, and subway cars.
i could imagine a self-powered, self-propelled, possibly tracked AI-controlled vehicle with a suitably-sized laser emitter moving through the aisles and hallways, disinfecting everything as it goes ... brings back memories of a Star Trek TNG episode with the Boron cleaning/sterilization ray as represented by green light moving through the vessel compartment by ompartment.
On a smaller scale, individuals exposed to the virus could visit their practitioner for a whole body scan, either with handheld lasers or specially designed scanners. Hospital personnel and emergency responders could have their own decontamination facilities, perhaps similar to radiation decontamination facilities at nuclear facilities.
