just 15% The LDB will apply a 15% mark-up on the landed cost of cannabis distributed throughout the province to public and private retail stores and the LDB’s online store, when cannabis is legalized on October 17. All cannabis retailers, including public stores, will purchase cannabis at a common wholesale price. Retailers will be required to pay the cost of shipping product from the LDB warehouse to their retail outlet.
Retailers can apply any retail mark-up to their product assortment, providing the final retail price is not lower than the wholesale cost.
15% is pretty minimal considering you now are part of a large buying group that will likely have better shipping costs and more buying power. There are a lot of other factors in play that to understand fully you need to read more on how private stores are allocated and know that the Government stores aren't going to 'compete' with price just like the LCBO doesn't compete with price, they all just leave it high. Not an issue as I see it as private stores generally manage to run leaner anyways.
