RE:RE:Tesla’s secret "project Roadrunner"Oh look, mr. Pump & Dump is back. I guess this week you want the stock to go down. :D
You obviously did not understand the implications of my last post. If you can produce batteries at a cost of $100 per kWh at the pack level, which Tesla is expected to announce shortly, it means that your EV:s are now as cheap to produce as internal combustion engine vehicles. This means that EV subsidies will stop to matter, since the difference in purchase price compared to ICE cars will disappear. As this happens, fewer people will want to buy an ICE car since the fuel cost will be higher and the future resale value will be low.
From the article in my last post:
"$100 per kWh has been described as the price target for batteries to enable electric vehicles to reach a price parity with gasoline cars without subsidies. If combined with mass production, it’s considered the “holy grail” of EV adoption since it would enable high-volume production of relatively affordable and/or high-margin electric cars."
The article also states that the new battery disclosed by Tesla will be more energy dense. A more energy dense battery means that the possible range will increase and become closer to ICE vehicles, making the phenomenon of range anxiety gradually go away.
And as for the February registrations; It is entirely possible that sales in Norway and the Netherlands have been constrained more by supply than demand. Tesla is selling the Model 3 on every continent now and can not produce these vehicles fast enough to satisfy demand in all markets. In addition, Norway had 1133 Audi e-tron deliveries in February, making it the top selling EV in Norway for that month and far outpacing any other electric car. So don't be so quick to claim that "the EV story is failing".
Again, if you don't believe in the EV story, please do yourself a service and get away from this stock. A superior technology like electric vehicles will not just fade away - it will dominate.
