Good point. MEG closed at $2.48 today (a $3.10 loss), no divy and still negative EPS. And we still got $1.775 Billion in cash on the balance sheet instead of MEG.

Here is a positive to think about:

Thank God we avoided that MEG buy because it is now heading for what it is really worth which as far as I can see is very little to nothing. HSE's 10 buck per share offer should have been a slam dunk for MEG but they wanted more...all the best to them.
