Kirkland Lake to shut two Australian projects - report Kirkland Lake Gold (NYSE:KL) plans to shut two gold projects in Australia's Northern Territory by the end of this month, the Australian Broadcasting Company reports.
Given the quality of Kirkland's other gold projects in Victoria and Canada, the Cosmo mine and Union Reefs processing plant are now considered non-core, the company reportedly told employees.
Kirkland management was "fed up" with the NT government's delay in processing mining approvals, which affected the decision to cease operations, according to the report.
