What was the old high for the DOW back before the crash of
2008, I think it was around 14000 or so, and then it lost about 50% or so.

Imagine a drop too 14700 or there abouts, over the course of maybe 1 - 1/2 yrs time.

Or maybe less time then that as in 2008 it was 5 - 6 months time

I was in a stock named Oilexco that was a freakin darling of the TSX , I mean it they talked highly and had pie in the sky target prices for it. And then wham a 1 2 3 sucker bank failures RBS royal bank of scotland called in their loan for the 2 deep sea drilling rigs that Oilexco had contracted 1 year for, well long story short they went down too 0 zero.
