RE:RE:RE:RE:Financial Markets Are Not Collapsing Because of Coronavirus Pandsca,
I am not here to defend the management, but if you don't like the management, then why are you invested in Monument?
I am saying this because I am invested in another company where the management is just absolutely supert and people still complain about them all the time. It is very easy to say "The management is incompetent." "They should be fired."
Mining is very a difficult business. It is even more difficult when you are in a bear market.
So what I am interested in right now is this. We are about to enter a huge bull market in gold and gold mining stocks. We have valuable assets: Selinsing, Murchinson, and Mengapur (whose purchase was terribly timed). I want to know how this management team performs when the wind is at their backs. I want to know what they are going to do with these assets when there is interest in gold assets.
I think that if they succeed by only a small margin, we will do well as shareholders from the current levels. If they succeed by a big margin, we will do very well. Right now, nobody cares so MMY is priced for failure. So if they do not deliver, and just sell the assets on the cheap, we should not lose too much. Actually, we should make a little bit of money.
I will take those odds. If you don't want to take those odds, just sell your shares and find something else that you like. You don't have to make money on the same horse that you lost it. Complaining about management is just not productive, in my opinion. But if it makes you feel better to complain, then have at it. I am not going to participate.
