Theralase Technologies Inc. is a Canada-based clinical-stage pharmaceutical company. The Company is engaged in the research and development of light activated compounds and their associated drug formulations. The Company operates through two divisions: Anti-Cancer Therapy (ACT) and Cool Laser Therapy (CLT). The Anti-Cancer Therapy division develops patented, and patent pending drugs, called Photo Dynamic Compounds (PDCs) and activates them with patent pending laser technology to destroy specifically targeted cancers, bacteria and viruses. The CLT division is responsible for the Company’s medical laser business. The Cool Laser Therapy division designs, develops, manufactures and markets super-pulsed laser technology indicated for the healing of chronic knee pain. The technology has been used off-label for healing numerous nerve, muscle and joint conditions. The Company develops products both internally and using the assistance of specialist external resources.

IMO, the US allowed too much time for this virus to spread in the US. We are just beginning to see the consequences.

In terms of testing, there are still too many medical facilities (outside of NY, NJ) that are still seriously lacking in testing capacity, & turnaround times for getting results in many states range from 4 to 10 days...for a test that takes several hours to perform.

Re: an abbreviated lockdown period for everyone, my concern is 2 to 3 weeks is not nearly enough. It looks like the unique of this virus would require a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks of strict isolation...& in my neighborhood, it seems it is difficult enough for many to stay home for a weekend. Also, as long as a significant portion of society will be leaving the house for "essentials", this bug can wreak its current level of havoc in either a prolonged wave of illness or in multiple waves (hopefully smaller).

Mass testing is the key to understand the scope & be able to protect those who are uninfected until there is safe prophylaxis & adequate treatment. Good luck...

There is test being produced by a small Canadian company out of Nova Scotia in partnership with GE HealthCare Life Sciences that will produce a test in less than 15 minutes and for a fraction of the other's costs, but it is still 2 - 3 weeks from launching as far as I know. Take a look at SONA.
