If you pick up the phone and talk to someone who actually works for them it's incredible how much real information you can find out. I knew the PR was coming out but not when, so I missed it. So they can tell you news is coming just not what or when. But certainly open to talking about progress etc. They will return your call for sure and not some donkey who isn't in the loop but upper mgmt. only shares the IR load. It is a big part of their job.
