Too many players got involved when legalization happened and the shakeout we are seeing had to happen. EVE will likely survive longer than some of the others because they do have enough cash to last for a few quarters but they really have to manage their expenses carefully. Although Cannabis sales have spiked short term (people are bored right now) the downturn in the economy will give a lot of people less disposable income which will be a problem. EVE has a lot of challenges, they will have to be great business managers to survive.
Have full confidence that EVE will make the grade and survive as they are a small family oriented business. Melinda would have learned valuable lessons during her earlier days in the crop business, she openly references that it was not easy and many a days she lay awake at night wondering where it was heading to. She has survived, been successful, has good roots in the community and province of Ontario, strong relationship with people at RBC otherwise there would have been no funds for expansion.
The business model will now executed and tweaked along the way unlike the bib boyz who were on a mission for rapid expansion globally. A person just has to read thee latest news about Canopy, they are trimming all the extra fat around the world. Previous manangement were spending especially when Consellation gave them 4 billion plus. Good thing they got rid of Linton when they did otherwise they would probably be following ACB. New CEO comes in and knows that they were poorly managed, expanded far to soon and forcast was not realistic though values in the billions.
IMHO EVE is going to be that "Niche/Craft" type of brand that is going to be successful with a one stop shop for all who enjoy the flower, edibles, beverage or beauty lines for females.
Time to enjoy the weekend folks !
