RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid American RepublicansHempdoc,
My PCP no longer administers flu shots, but refers all such to the area pharmacies, none of which choose to provide the rather rare (their words) single dose variety ... costs more on average to produce, and supply is quite limited. Distribution is another matter entirely.
As for the measles vaccine providing lifelong immunity, more recent studies indicate otherwise.

Briefly, vaccinations don't work for everyone, and of those vaccinated an additional small percentage are estimated to lose their immunity annually. The numbers show those factors result in the loss of the desired herd immunity, or rather the fact it was never really achieved in the first place. Estimates for the duration are as low as 20-25 years effective immunity among those vaccinated. That means a couple generations most likely are due for boosters.
Most won't read far into that article before nodding off, so for the soundbite version, scroll through to the graph under "Problem 3" showing the exponential decrease that occurred long before a vaccine was introduced and read a few paragraphs before and after the graph to see why that occurred. Then scroll all the way to the end section labeled Conclusions and read those.
That way you'll miss most of the gory -- and sleep-inducing -- details, but you'll still learn there are more questions than answers remaining regarding the efficacy, side effects, and length of immunity provided by most vaccines. One key detail you'll have missed, though, is that antibodies do not necessarily mean immunity. That's something everyone should bear in mind as we begin more widespread testing in the wake of this COVID-19 pandemic.
Unfortunately for me, though I'm indeed fortunate to have lived as long as I have, now I am at or very near the end of my estimated 70-year natural immunity span gained from not one, but two, bouts with measles by age 7 (probably two slightly different strains at least two years apart). Measles, mumps, and chickenpox were considered childhood rites of passage in those days, but watch out for the dreaded German measles....
Yes, Erin Elizabeth is notable for her more naturalistic approach to health issues. Given her own experiences with allopathic medicine, it's not hard to understand why that is. I have my own experiences that inform my attitudes.
