Just some exploration musingsHey everyone,
Now that the PFS is out and drilling is stopped I have been poking around the news releases and maps looking for bits of information I may have overlooked in the past. Mostly just nerding out a bit since I have the time. Anyways here is a bit of what I’ve been looking at. Be warned in advance there isn’t really any strong conclusions just bits of information I was tired of having bouncing around in my head and needed to write down.
Starting off with some Berry Zone thoughts. So far the Berry Zone has looked good with “Main Zone” type mineralization but the estimated width has been lackluster relative to the L & M deposits. There is a good chance this Main Zone will grow fatter in the future on a healthy diet of drill holes. Remember how many holes were plugged into Leprechaun before last year’s infill drilling added significantly to the width of the Main Zone there. So currently the Berry Zone Main is up to 40 meters wide but I consider there to be upside potential there.
Sticking with the Berry Zone, the Section 13700 cross section looks a little weak compared to some of the other ones with dispersed gold bearing areas and no vertical Main Zone between the fault and mafic dyke. Again, this is very possibly a result of no vertical drilling on this section as all three holes are at a roughly 45 degree angle with no chance to capture mineralization in the upper 100 meters of where the Main Zone would be. One vertical hole here could make this area look great.
Leaving the Berry Zone, I would love to see a cross section of the drilling in Section 14740 near Frozen Ear Pond Road. This strikes me as similar to Section 13700 with primarily 45 degree drilling which limits the lengths of intersections relative to the vertical holes. Anyways, the drilling done in this area shows potential with rough intersects of 10gt/5m, 5gt/6m, 7gt/10m, 2gt/18m (compiled), and 7gt/4m. Obviously MOZ sees potential here with quite a few proposed holes in the area. I’m excited to see what results come out of here in the future.
Just some thoughts on the Condemnation/Footwall drilling. I think that its pretty easy to assume that these drill holes are a zero from the gold perspective but I wanted to throw a couple of observations out there. Drilling along the Valentine Thrust Fault has shown the gold essentially stops as soon as the drill gets into the Robertson Lake Conglomerate (the south side of the fault). There is little to no gold there and that fine but the Robertson Lake Conglomerate is actually a fairly thin band near the fault before giving way to other rocks. The majority of the two Condemnation/Footwall zones actually fall to the south of the Robertson Lake Conglomerate and into rock that has been shown to hold gold. One historical gold showing is to the east of the Marathon Deposit across the river and near the stream that flows out of Red Cross Lake. The other showing is near the far east end of Marathon’s land holdings (Humby Showing). I feel like I remember reading somewhere that the Humby Showing was a high priority target but that was back in the early days and I can't find where that was said so maybe I imagined it. So not likely we are going to get significant gold from this drilling but the possibility is higher than zero.
On the purely speculation front the areas I want to get explored in the distant future are south of the Victory SW prospect and northeast of the Victory deposit near where the fault intersects the river.
Stay safe.
