TFSAfunds wrote: So, all you environmentalists out there, (read Tcheck) what say you to the Federal and Provincial Governments taking over Nemaska... not buying it out, just taking 100% ownership and then developing the project to fruition? Your current status is worthless, so you're not losing anything, yet Governments will reap the benefit along with the environment!
Is that not a win-win scenario? Gov't makes money from revenue AND downstrean taxes. You folks are ecstatic because you're doing the environment good! You've been running on at the mouth for too long about the importance of lithium, so your past investment could be considered a "donation" to the wellbeing of the planet. And as a goodwill gesture, the CRA will even allow you to consider that "donation" to be a "capital loss"! Damn, doesn't that just make you happier than the proverbial "pig in sh!t"... lol

IQ owned 50% of Focus Graphite Inc. (FMS) and purchases the other 50% for $7.24-million. A rare earth elements project. https://www.stockwatch.com/News/Item?bid=Z-C%3aFMS-2894434&symbol=FMS®ion=C Gary Economo's Focus Graphite Inc. (FMS), unchanged at 2.5 cents on 1.3 million shares, has agreed to sell its 50-per-cent interest in the Kwyjibo rare earth project in Quebec for $7.24-million to Investissement Quebec, an exploration arm of the Quebec government. (Investissement Quebec already owns half the project, but who else but the government would be able -- or willing -- to part with that much cash for a stalled exploration play. Focus carries Kwyjibo on its books for just $6.78-million, so this is one of those rarities when an exploration junior heads to the exit with a profit.) Kwyjibo hosts 6.9 million tonnes measured and indicated at 2.72 per cent total rare earth oxides, about one-third of them the desirable heavies, with 1.3 million tonnes inferred at 2.72 per cent. A 2018 dream sheet proposed a 10-year, $724-million mine that supported a discounted net present value of $374-million after taxes. Mr. Economo is "extremely pleased" with the tentative sale, which he believes will "unlock significant value to our shareholders" and allow his company to focus on its other projects. The company's top prospect is the Lac Knife graphite project in northeastern Quebec. It cleared feasibility six years ago, based on a reserve of 7.86 million tonnes averaging 15.13 per cent graphite. The proposed $166-million mine -- graphite mines come cheaper than rare earth ones -- supported a discounted net present value of $224-million after taxes.
