URANIUM LT CONTRACT PRICE DETAILS
URANIUM LT CONTRACT PRICE DETAILSHere are the key dates that I believe are relevant as we move forward deeper into 2020.
May 2007 to March 1 2008 - LT contracts are all mostly at around $ 95.00/LB
Spot price peaking at $ 137 in June of 2007 is irrelevant IMHO. How many 42,000 LB T/L's traded at $ 137/LB ? Not a real number just like Spot now is not a real number. But most anaylsts follow the Spot, so be it.
So we have many LBS signed in late 2007 and into early 2008 - how many of these LT contracts currently exist now - 12 YR LT contracts ? Not many if any. So let's say a bunch rolled off in 2017/2018 and they are just burning these LBS away and now waiting for a direction to take ?
The Utilities are like a herd of gazelle's grazing in the field - all bunched together - happy content - and will not move until most move - and not seeing anything brewing on the horizon.....Can this honestly be true with all this chatter about mines closing - Uranium supply tightening - even big mines timeline closing on the horzion ???
Seems to me that those running a 5 Billion dollar Nuclear Power Plant might want to err with caution and not get caught with no U LBS. But maybe gamblers at heart.
Sign me up at $ 69.50/LB for 10 years out to MAy 1, 2030 - firm pricing no matter what happenss to Spot. A price of $ 69.50/LB in April of 2030 might not be too bad when MR/CL and others are closed & full of concrete and just a memory like Cluff Lake.
UEX - Shea Creek or whatever they are called in early 2030 will be pumping out the U LBS in 2030 that is for sure. And Christie,WB, HR and others... And UEX @ $ 0.18 per share will be a laughable story to tell the kids.
