i kinda agree. Some of the good point of covid on oil are:

1. it shut down anti oil anti pipeline protesters

2. shale oil doesn't really add value to shareholders while producing oil for sake of producing oil just so executives can collect their golden salary and bonuses. 

3. canadian producers need to throttle down production until pipelines are built.

4. It knock back green energy movement, they can't compete with sub 50 oil.

5. we learn to do more with less. I see more work at home and surplus commercial spaces

The virus has forced the energy industry around the World to make major concessions on reducing production, something that the industry simply refused to do on its own.

It wasn't just OPEC+ either, Canada and the USA have overloaded the supply side with continuous expansion financed by money they didn't have. Canadian production has doubled in the last decade so we weren't innocent either.

I think the worst will be over in the next month as China is starting to come back on-line with the USA to follow within the next 90 days.
