Let's hope hospitals can quickly cut through their own internal bureaucracies. You would think time-sensitive cancer treatments/trials such as ours would have been considered urgent from the get-go.
This "surgical renewal" process is going to be a staged/gradual rollout, which could mean many more weeks before some procedures (including those for cancer) can be performed. There still seems to still be an annoying level of "subjectivity" as to which cancer patient or type of procedure/treatment gets first priority.
Whatever happened to common sense? Why not serology test every trial patient as well as every hospital investigator/team member?...& use the more accurate (in terms of determining immunity) neutralization cell culture based assay. How about having every trial patient sign a Covid-19 liability waiver? If it were me, I would have signed yesterday...it's my darn bladder! But of course, Big Brother always knows better...
