RE:RE:RE:News : First Quarter ResultsI am not sure but this may account for the lower prices. Gold mines produce rough gold, called a dore bar. These bars are typically less than the 99.5 percent pure gold is. The gold is then sent to a speacilized government inspected and approved refinery, where it is refined into gold of different purity.
