RE:RE:Oilsands is dead

husky has no surface mining at all.  Their SAGD are comprised of numerous 5000 to 10,000 bo/day projects. The project design is cookie cutter style so that once a project is depleted, it can re-use most of the equips in the next project, and save on engineering design as well.

Here are a few facts for the tragically misinformed.

Alot of HSE production does not come from the oilsands.

Some of it comes from in-situ thermal projects that have absolutely nothing to do with oil sands operations. Another chunk comes from offshore light oil on the East Coast which again has absolutely nothing to do with oil sands. Their Asian natural gas projects obviously have nothing to do with the oil sands either. Retail and refinery assets also have nothing to do with oil sands.

As for the sector, its far from over no matter what the hypocrites in Norway say.

Shale oil production is crashing and most of the shale frackers will be extinct within 2 years. That's when investors come back to the sector and thats when the flakes will be proven wrong.
