Re the PTQ CCWell one important aspect of CC’s is that they be civilized; anything less than that would be counterproductive. To some extent CCs are scripted; those known to the company, persons who deport themselves in an appropriate manner, -their names would be pulled first from the queue of questions, thereby weeding out the crazies. Time constraints also help.
I wouldn’t at all be surprised that topical questions or special areas of interest, -things that highlight and reinforce what is contained in the quarter might even be suggested in advance as topics of discussion to those callers. Analyst Chelsea Stellick and her question re tuck-ins falls precisely into this category. It is a case of Crawford strategically promoting the company by saying that there is financing available to make a large purchase if that were the right path or by saying that smaller tuck-ins might be the route to follow. It highlights the company is well positioned to do either and something will be done and soon!
So the tuck-ins are coming, - (like those Xmas gifts under the tree that you drool over but can’t open just yet. But knowing that positive event is dangling over the stock certainly puts a long term bid under it and keeps the shorts at bay.
