I have been in and out of this fund for many years , even back when it was under Sentry  name before being bought out by CI Investments. I do not recall any mention of option plays or covered calls. That seems to be more of a strategy for split funds, to enhance gains.
As far as i can recall reading the PME setup , it pays out primarily from capital gains, and a small amount from dividends collected.
PME actually has more dividend payers now, than it has had in the past.
