Brooks, AlbertaOne of several Alberta Covid 19 hotspots. Global News had a great story on their late news about the outbreak in this town.
When the outbreak first started in a town with a large immigrant population working in the beef processing plant, they did mass testing for anyone who wanted one. They found 10% of @ 3200 tested were asymtomatic and positive for Covid 19 without displaying any symtoms.
The immigrant association quickly produced Covid 19 materials in 18 languages. More testing was done. Anyone not able to self isolate due to shared accomadations was given a motel room by the province. Restrictions were faithfully adhered to by all and so in a recent mass testing program, the infection rate had dropped to .9%, that's point nine percent.
IMO this shows screening by temperature scanners is pretty much useless. Thermal cameras might catch most cases, but high quality testing is clearly the only solution to reliably protect the population from further outbreaks. Cheers
