Alianza Mobilizes Crew for Horsethief Drilling Alianza Minerals Mobilizes Crew for Horsethief Drilling Program
Alianza Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: ANZ, OTC: TARSF) (“Alianza” or the “Company”) reports that crews have mobilized to commence a reverse-circulation (“RC”) drilling program at the Horsethief Gold Property, Nevada, funded by partner Hochschild Mining (US), a subsidiary of Hochschild Mining PLC (“Hochschild”, LSE:HOC). Hochschild holds an option to earn a 60% interest in the project by funding exploration expenditures of US$5 million over 5.5 years.
Horsethief is located 16 miles (25 km) east of the historic mining town of Pioche, NV. The current Notice of Intent (“NOI”), recently approved by the United States Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”), allows for up to 3,000 metres of drilling in ten holes.
Crews are on site preparing drill pads and access to the target areas in advance of the drill arriving on site. The drill rig is scheduled to arrive on or about May 25 and the program is expected to be completed near the end of June. The program will be conducted with the safety of its employees, contractors and subcontractors as a priority and includes updated health and safety procedures in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Management is confident that with these refined health and safety protocols and adherence to local and regional governmental recommendations on travel and conduct, the Horsethief RC drill program can be executed safely.
“The 2020 program will test the contact of Cambrian and Ordovician-age stratigraphy for gold mineralization at the five target areas identified to-date at Horsethief,” stated Jason Weber, P.Geo., President and CEO of Alianza. “This program will focus on the favourable stratigraphy at the Horsethief North and South areas, where prior drilling was too shallow to test the contact. New targets such as the Thoroughbred, Mustang and Stallion targets will each be tested with at least one drill hole as well.”
