Yes Sanofi is moving away from traditional oral drugs for diabetes. They realize the new game is gene and cell therapy. They have in fact spent lots of money on diabetes stem cell reasearch . Follow the money. They are in advanced stages with the B cell for diabetes hence they are not going to waste money on drug research when they can have stem cells that are a cure for diabetes.
