Management has maintained their stance of only selling part of the asset and not equity itself.
So, pt#2 may not apply.

If they have material news on hand, they may not be able to buy more shares in public, so cancelling the options and replacing similar amount of Options at a much lower price as part of yearly allocation, would give them more upside post any financing deal.

That's all i can think of.
