I'm assuming their lab is for product development. Nextleaf was always advertised as B2B extraction services. What anyone does with their oils/molecules afterwards isn't their concern.

Much like the Bevcanna deal, Nextleaf just does the extraction, Bevcanna will use Nextleaf's emulsifier tech but Bevcanna will also be doing their own in house R&D product development and testing.

For them to have a subsidiery lab makes me a little nervous because that usually means distillation - which NL currently does. But perhaps HIghander's clients will drop off the plant to them, NL will process it to oil; Highlander will make the product and deliver it back to the client. Highlander has also mentioned that they may have their own Highlander brand - so it is possible that Both Paul and Tiffany have specialised - but just in different parts of the chain (Paul: extraction; Tiffany: brand and distribution).
