On the East Coast of Trinidad, the discovery well, Angostura-1, was drilled in 1999, intersecting 950ft (gross) of gas pay in a thrusted Mid Miocene anticline with later Pleistocene transpresssional deformation. The hydrocarbon potential of the structure was confirmed by the drilling of Aripo-1, Kairi-1, Canteen-1, Kairi-2, Angostura-2 and Canteen-2 wells. The Kairi and Canteen fault blocks contain most of the oil while Aripo has a thin oil rim overlain by a significant gas cap. Field size is estimated at 90/160/300MMBO with 1/1.75/2.3TCF of gas.
Onshore at Guapo, single spotted non-commercial production from thin Late Eocene sands (~20ft) were encountered in Guapo 701 & 990 wells. @touchstone.exploration.inc has recently intercepted Late Eocene sands unconformably overlain by Late Miocene Lower Cruse within Forest Reserve which may prove to be new exploration targets in this mature field.
