RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:NR

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:NRI agree.  I bought this for the "safe play" dividend, but have never been green on my position.  Horrible timing.as I've held it for years and have yet to see it return to the 50s for any appreciable period of time. Its' frustrating, as I own large chunks of both ENB and ALA (and trust me, ALA is even worse as it did cut its dividend drastically after a series of blunders that I think have permanently impaired the stock).   ALA even spun out assets to pay for the WGL assets that they overpaid for, and those asset then got bought for double the spin-out price.  Talk about a disaster.  That old management is gone, but doesn't change the fact that it was a $31 stock and now it's a sub $15 stock.  I'm hoping that ENB recovers at some point to my cost base, but I have no such illusions about ALA.

My sister who used to work in tech and retired within 6 months of me, told me to sink money into SHOP, AMD, NVDA, and MSFT instead of buying ENB, ALA and a number of other pipelines.  Her portfolios at all-time highs, surpassing even her pre-covid high.

I've been trying to take Sarge's advice and not worry about the daily fluctuations, but as the portfolio I hold just barely covers my living expenses, the talk of dividend cuts or suspensions scares me a bit.  ENB was supposed to be a "sleep well at night" stock, but if I'm being honest, it definitely hasn't been that for me.  At this point, not sure what we can do, so try not to let it bother you too much.  Hopefully it can climb back above $50 at some point, and we can both exit and never look back.

One really has to wonder if it's worth the stress and constant, never ending bull$hit of owning a pipeline, ESPECIALLY Enbridge. It's 3 steps forward, 4 steps back with this dog that's heading back to the 30's Quick Time. Remember also, ENB is yielding around about the same as IPL when they smacked IPL dividend down by 72 % with out any warning whatsoever. Just because old Al Monaco gives cozy, feel good fire side chats, doesn't mean to say the div can't be cut. Just blame it on Covid, everything else these days is.
