RE:Would only make sense that KINROSS will be the one to come Kinross is only a few km away. Over 20 years mining at their deposit (Fort Knox) they’ve mined 8 million ozs from a resource grading 0.33 g/t gold. Interestingly, FVL’s current outlined resource grades 0.69 g/t gold…more than twice the grade of Fort Knox.
Because of their dwindling resource, Kinross acquired an adjacent property, Gilmore, to the west of Fort Knox in 2017. Gilmore grades 0.55 g/t gold…again FVL’s Golden Summit resource of 6 MT grades 0.69 g/t gold. Gilmore apparently has resources to last 7-10 years.
Of interest, there’s this statement from Kinross’ website:
“...With additional upside potential beyond the Gilmore project, Kinross will continue to explore the prospectivity of the Fort Knox area....”
I think it’s a given that Kinross’ curiosity is more than just a little piqued in Freegold’s drill success and existing resource. To be able to extend operations has so many economic, employment, political benefits (to the State and Kinross).
I’d be surprised if they already haven’t visited Golden Summit to have a look at hole 2001 core.
Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see how the coming weeks and months play out for FVL…and its investors of course.
Have a good night!
