Great boardWhen I want to read really good stuff about what investors think, not analysts, I come here.
Thanks gentlemen for your contributions and your insights. Its very helpful to me in formulating
and reinforcing my own approach these days. I am trading as much as I can in my account and holding cash and solid dividend payers in my wifes for long term growth and income. Its working
reasonably well for me and its got me using everything in the toolbox.
I don't know how this will all end but I'm trying to cover my bases for several outcomes. I have
even bought more gold stocks to hedge against the possibility of further declines in the US$
and even catastrophic declines in the markets. I would never have resorted to this type of
scatter gun approach in the past but because of the extreme levels of uncertainty, and I am
well into retirement, I can't afford to take horrendous losses and wait for years to recover from them again. What is going on is of monumental and historical proportions. No one knows or
can predict the outcome. We've never been here before. As bad as war is, the economy has
never been compromised as much as this and the prospects of lingering fallout may conceivably
last the rest of my lifetime. High unemployment. low growth, and higher taxation is what I see
coming out of this. As for the markets, I remain very cautious and am continuing to hold a
high percentage of cash on hand.
