Target July 31st - EU's Alstom Bid Tell All Update on Bombardier Names New Managing Director For India; And In the News
07:53 AM EDT, 07/10/2020 (MT Newswires) -- Bombardier Inc. (BBD-B.TO) said Friday that its Bombardier Transportation unit appointed Rajeev Joisar as managing director for India. The company said Joisar will be responsible for the end-to-end mandate of business development and sales through to project execution and services. Joisar was a proven business partner for Bombardier for almost two decades.
Bombardier Transportation, which has around 1,500 employees in India, operates a railway vehicle manufacturing site and bogie assembly hall in Gujarat state and has been a long-time partner of Indian Railways.
This comes after The Canadian Press reported Thursday that Bombardier says it supports Alstom's commitments to sell some of the Canadian transportation company's railway assets to address potential regulatory concerns with Alstom SA's US$8.2-billion acquisition of Bombardier Transportation.
And, today, Reuters is reporting that European Union antitrust regulators have set a new deadline of July 31 to rule on Alstom's bid for Bombardier Inc's transport business after the French TGV high-speed train maker offered to sell assets to address competition concerns.
